I've discussed this point before I think.

"Ownership" is a concept that is overrated in Olympia. It is also
being interpreted by 20th century views.

Sure claim ownership in the Times or list but as those of us that
have been around a while know ownership is easy to announce and
harder to back up. The Harn Confederacy 'owned' a lot of territory
but it didn;t help us when the Lords rolled in.

We are in medieval times people. You want to 'own' something then you
better to be able to back it up.

You don;t want to give your ID's out then fine but you must take
responsibility for your paranoia.

There are over 2000 noble ID's alone. Does anybody keep track of
everyone you meet or have contact with, especially a lone newbie?? I
have enough trouble remembering my own noble ID's.

In a side note, we recently scried the ID of a Lords ship we had
encountered during the Harn war. It wasn't very revealing as it
turned out to be the ID of a mine on Tollus. :-)
So for anyone who is interested ID's do recycle.
