Just to set the record straight, Hugh is not a Guild of Merchants in
the way any medieval person would understand it. He actually controls
a sizeable domain on Krussos complete with castle and army. This free
trader stuff is a good cover I suppose.

BTW Hugh I don;t remember you screaming about the magical Barriers
that the Lords used to block the Straits. Surely that was a
'restraint of free trade'. I know of at least one merchant who spent
three months trying to find a way through and then had to do a
circumnavigation of the globe to get home.

Oh thats right, The Lords and PLATO never told anyone they were there
so you couldn't scream about it. Just people who blundered into it
knew about it.

Oh and stupid old me put a rumour in when I found out about it. Next
time I'll just keep visioning and have a good laugh at all those
independant macho traders and explorers banging their heads against
it

As a certain long time player said to me after this stupid debate
started.

>Don't tell anyone you what you are doing and they can't
>complain about it. Let's face it most of the players are so
>self-centered they would never think of warning anyone else of the
>dangers.

I have always announced what I was up to when it was likely to effect
neutral parties. I have three motives here
1) Ego
2) Letting others know what is going on so the game experience is
enhanced
3) Warning neutrals of what was going down so they could make an
informed decision on whether to enter an area or not.
4) (So I can't count) It seemed to simulate 'real life' more where
word of a huge war would spread by rumour anyway.

This was my intention in that post. No ownership, no threat,
just statement of fact and warning of what was happening

PS The Lords Ships are easy to spot. They are flotsam

Andrew/Mordekai (I'm sure you can work out which bits are which)

If anybody is interested I am now pissed off!

While I'm in the mood

Cendage has a big mouth for someone that has yet to leave his god
forsaken lands and actually do anything of interest in the world
apart from giving the Lords troops and then denying it and popping up
in the list more times than he has actually been seen in the world.
