It seems to me that the whole question regarding the war on the sea
revolves around the definition of ownership. By sending in an advertisement
of neutrality to the BoRG, we not only give them future combat intelligence,
but we grant them defacto ownership of the ocean, allowing them to control
our actions. To those who don't care and just want to do their thing, sure
go ahead. However, it seems to me that unless I am willing to either
garrison my ship with however many pirates seems safe, or to surrender my id
numbers. Frankly, there are enough people running around whose allegiance I
don't know that have most or all of my id numbers without broadcasting it to
another series of alliances. What's next an id for sale website? But then,
I'm just a newbie who hasn't figured out how to: "Just send us a message,
stupid!"
