In Soviet army that was solved very easy - for example a company of
soldiers runs 10km - the two last ones will be beaten by other soldiers
- and everyone tries to run as fast as possible - that's true story.

But that will make the game being boring - now you have to scout whether

someone is going to attack you you have to maintain activity, but with a

slow movement all you need is full stocks with weapons - which cost you
less than ready army - and when bad news are reaching you just train.

And therefore war turns to trying to get as many people as possible and
numbers and that is getting the game boring when you are unable to move.

If you talk about reality then remember that medieval France did not
have castles 10 month way from each other. I suppose the movement could
be much quicker.

Acutally agreed - that will bring more cooperation between factions -
now newbies have little to do, but when master of the land needs
soldiers he could rent for an appropriate money nobles - or even
conscript them - as TIBð do - from newbies who would act as mercenaries
- that would make the game interesting for both.
