You may not have said anything about trade, but that is what the whole
discussion is about. The apparent decision of the LotC to deny Captain Arr
free trade in Azrain. So far, that's the only charge that has been leveled.
I responded directly to your statement that you were interested in Azrain for
security reasons. I merely asked how the closing of Azrain to outside trade
increases or diminshs the security threat to Camaris.

Hey, I agree that Azrain may pose a threat to you. It's controlled by a large
group of factions that have demonstrated in the past that they are not afraid
to......."ruffle feathers"....to get what they want. Plato has also
demostrated such tactics in the past. So, I'm not questioning the fact that
the area is hot. What I am attempting to see is how the threat level to Plato
increased when Captain Arr was refused trade rights to Azrain.

I also agree with the good Captain that LotC's decision to close the port was
probably the wrong choice. And while the arguement can be made that closing
Azrain is against the spirit of the Accord, an argument of equal validity can
be made that Captain Arr returning to Azrain was a violation of the spirit,
and Plato's current attempt to influence Azrain is also a violation of the
spirit.

I would also like to address, one last time, this notion that I've said that
Plato is "banished" to Camaris. I never said such a thing, and if I implied
it, I apologise. My intent was to say that Plato should not attempt to
influence the operation of cities within the realms of other alliances.
Cities that are rightfully, and per treaty, granted to those alliances. Plato
is more than welcome to come to Provinina and trade and travel and colonize
and become productive and friendly neighbors to all. It's not my place to
speak for all Provinians, but personally, I welcome you. But while on
Provinia, Plato (and all other nations) are asked to respect the laws of the
existing nations and not try to change the world to fit Plato's vision.

Captain Arr, and anybody else, is well within his rights as an Olympian to
bring to the world's attention LotC's decision to close Azrain. He and others
can rail on about it to their hearts content. But in the end, Azrain belongs
to LotC. Their actions there have not harmed anybody nor has it hindered the
advancement of newbies (to our knowledge). They have done nothing wrong other
than to run their city in a way contrary to the way Plato wants it run. And
while this may be sufficient grounds for Plato to act, I hardly think its
reason for Plato to hope for world-wide outrage.

In closing, if Plato wants to help newbies to get out from under the yoke of
the perceived oppressive LotC rule, I suggest they offer a ferry service from
Yellowleaf to Camaris where newbies can prosper under the watchful eye of
Plato.
If Captain Arr feels slighted by his snub at the hands of the LotC, he is free
to respond. (and I DO feel he was snubbed)
If Goran feels the closing of Azrain poses a security threat to his holdings
on Camaris, I would be interested to hear why.

This is simply not an "outrageous event" and we're all making a mountain out
of a mole hill.
