I don't know...it seems like the issue with combat is the same issue as
with movement: leadership. You need to have a certain number of leaders
to coordinate the troops. You can't have one leader (adequately)
controlling pikemen to the front and archers 50 meters to the rear.

Perhaps a sergeant unit type? (Just to make things more complicated <grin>)
