Greetings,

The crossbowman might be better than a soldier with his first shot, but
he is very unlikely to get a second. Even in the front line, a man with
a missle weapon is likely to be able to attack his opponent long before
the opponent would get a chance to counter with his melee weapon.
Doesn't seem that far off to me.
