RE: combat rules debate

I think it applies only to nobles (aka units) and not to men. So an elite
archer would always have an attack rating of 10 on the front lines and a 75
missile rating in the rear. However a noble with say (80, 80, 100) would use
its missile rating of 100 for both the front and rear ranks. (Unless the
passage in the rules is totally hosed.)

Missile Attacks

Units in the rear may attack with their missile rating. Units in front
attack with either their missile rating, or their attack rating, whichever
is higher.

A colleague of mine takes this to mean that elite archers for example
fight with an attack rating of 75 in the front..

Thus effectively while the elite archer is listed as (10,10,75). It
fights like 75,10,75 when its in the front lines.

I disagree.. thinking its a yet another ambiguity in the rules.

What do you all think?
