I suppose this is a sarcastic comment on the recent "I quit" message by
some LotC members in the latest newsletter.
Let's look at it shall we:
1. The main difference between G1 and G2 is that you cannot lose NP (at
least
you aren't supposed to), so one could say that NP are part of what
you pay for, so the claims seem fair enough.
2. The bug is solved. This was the important one, even if you lost
something
it can't have been that much, and you won't lose any more. So be happy
about that.
3. Compensation is difficult. I work with databases every day, and sifting
though
historical data to restore them is a pain. I understand why it takes
time.
Also someone might claim too big losses, or simply miscalculate, so
this is a big task for Rich. Also Rich never claimed in his
advertisments
that this is a bug free environment - it might be said, we pay for the
bugs
too.
4. Compensation is long overdue - it's been ages since the first cries for
this,
and nothing has happened for quite some time.
5. The comments about quitting seem harsh, but the place (in the
newsletter) isn't
as harsh as that seems, after all Rich has stated he has a good 1500
letters always waiting for him in his mail, and with the flame wars
going
on here, who can blame him for not following every discussion on the
G2-list.
Thats 2 points for "Rich get this fixed now" (1 and 4)
2 points for "give him a break" (2 and 3)
1 point split (5)
And lastly!!
I haven't been affected by this bug, and neither have many other people -
to those
who have suffered no loss - keep snide comments to yourselves about the
complaints
of others until you have tried it on your own faction, to those that HAVE
suffered losses
and really DO NOTcare - flame away!!!
