Re: Major alliances controlling several starting cities?!

Although your concerns are well thought out and nicely illustrated,
I believe them to be somewhat misplaced.

First:
This war has been going on for nearly 70 turns. The only thing that
will end it short of another 70 turns is one side or the other dropping
out of the game.

Second:
The recent attacks on newbies by the LotC are an abberation, not the
norm. If the war was not occurring, they would propably offer to help
new factions learn the game system or relocate off of Provinia. To my
knowledge, the Musketeers have never attacked a newbie. No matter who
"wins" [if it is ever won] new players have little to fear from victor.

Third:
Even with the fall of one or the other, there are still areas on Provinia
outside the warzone. And a whole lot of the Olympian world NOT at war.

Even though this war has spilt over onto Cameris, it hasn't gone anywhere
else. The change in the Teleport rules, as well as the movement rules for
large armies and the NP requirements for taking over others' nobles has
made g2 a far different animal. g1 was "winnable", and the AOO "won".
g2 might be, but WON'T be unless whichever alliance tries to do it recruits
massive amounts of players, or absorbs other alliances....preferably before
they are descemated.

As for peace in the Greyfell area, the NoE players entered the war because
they wanted to have some fun. They haven't had enough fun yet. No good,
no evil. Just recreation. I know its unpleasant for those who just want
to trade and explore, but they pay their turn fees just as everyone else
does,
and this is what entertains them.

And if it wasn't them, it would be someone else. I recall the Seehawk's
press release concerning the formation of a Greyfell Alliance whose name
I forget but sounded particularly unpeaceful [Buccaneers? Privateers?].

I suggest you duck for cover and/or join the more peaceful alliances
such as T.I.B.S. or the House of Lords. I also suggest that unless
there is a massive drop out of one alliance or the other, neither of
these two alliances are going to be AOOish anytime soon. Heck, it may
even be in everyone else's best interest to see this was continue ad
infinitum. Pick the side that seems to be losing and send it aid or
new members so as to keep it going. So long as it is going, WARriors
have some place they can go if they want to get into a fight without
starting a war on some other peaceful area of the Olympian world.
