The Good Old Days ...

You know, the thing I like best about the current discussions is
that it sounds SO much like what the AOO was accused of in G1,
except that now some of the accusers are on the other side of
the fence: improprieties against newbies, exploitation of bugs,
favoritism from the moderator .. it brings tears to these
wizened old eyes to know that the tradition lives on ..

(I think the difference is that we rarely even bothered to
respond to the general whining since we knew it would just
degenerate into the kind of thing we are seeing now. By just
accepting the role of heartless embodiment of pure evil, we
didn't need to waste too much time trying to convince people
we weren't really so bad; a great time saver.)

(And before anyone misconstrues that .. I am quite explicitly
NOT accusing Greg/Oleg of *anything*. He is/was always a
worthy opponent.)

My own attitude is that when you uncover a bug, it needs to
be reported to Rich. However, once you have done your duty
and reported the bug, it should now be considered a "feature"
(by virtue of its being documented) and thus fair game to
use. The flip side is that when it gets fixed without warning,
you don't get to complain about *that* either.
