Marc:

The NPCs referred to by that publication were savages, either prisoners
or summoned by the use of Beastmastery skill.

The NPCs Eric is referring to are item-controlled, thus count as a noble.
Only it does not work that way. We had a stack with four item-controlled
NPCs. None of them were mine. I was the stack leader. None of them
counted as nobles for movement delay determination.

We then changed stack leader. The _new_ stack leader controled 2 of the
4 item-controlled NPCs. The movement delay was reduced as if those two, but
not the other two, were nobles.

As a final experiment, we split into two stacks. Each stack leader
controlled 2 of the 4 item controlled NPCs. In this case, all 4 contributed
to the reduction of the movemenbt penalty for their respective stacks.

This was reported to Rich [a _very_ long time ago]. It has not been
fixed, and may never be fixed. In the larger scheme of things it may
well be a minor glitch and fixing it could create bigger problems.
To me, at the time, it was a catastrophic glitch. Oh well. Tough
noogies [my loss].
