Greetings fellow Olympiads:

First, I have just read Keith's fine letter which explains quite
well, to my mind, what the situation is.

I have just re-read the treaty & must confess that Eric's reading
of the letter of the treaty is correct. However, the spirit of the
treaty, the spirit of the entire campaign against the New Empire, was to
make the area around Yellowleaf an area in which newbies may freely
operate & in which they may begin unfettered their Olympian careers.

If we allow ourselves to be constrained by the letter of the law
while in so doing we let the spirit of the law die on the vine, we have
fallen into the fallacy of legalism.

That we will not do.

I am,
not yet assuaged,
Captain Arrrr
