Announcing the First Great Olympian Race!
Begin at one of the six starting cities on turn 150 and be the first noble to visit the other five and return to your starting point to win.
Prizes: 1st Prize - $25,000 2nd Prize - $15,000 3rd Prize - $10,000
Other Prizes: Shortest time on each leg - $5000 (6 Prizes) (Legs are Drassa-Greyfell, Greyfell-Rimmon, Rimmon-Yellowleaf, Yellowleaf-Harn, Harn-Port Aurnos, and Port Aurnos-Drassa, in either direction and in any order. Must complete race to qualify.) Best Times Race Reports - $10,000 (I pick nominees, everyone votes) Special Bonus Pot - $10,000 (As I see fit)
Total Prize Money currently available - $100,000
Rules:
I will have a noble in each city (IDs to be published later). Racing nobles will check in by giving my nobles 1 gold at the start of the race and upon arrival in each city.
Someone pointed out problems with the message command. Consider the seven gold necessary for start, finish and each checkpoint to be the entrance fee.
Overall winning time based on number of days elapsed from day 1 turn 150 to final gold receipt. Winning leg times will be calculated based on number of days between receipt of gold in each city.
What happens between checkpoints is up to you.
To qualify for the Times prize, you must either sign your article or let me know about it prior to publication. The article in the last Times might have qualified for a bonus prize if it had been signed.
To enter:
Send your faction ID, racing noble ID, and your racing alias to greatolyrace@yahoo.com. All race reports I place in the Times will use your racing alias, rather than noble names or IDs.
Submit questions to greatolyrace@yahoo.com
Note: I reserve the right to reduce the prizes if fewer than 10 racers sign up. I also reserve the right to increase the bonus pot at anytime
. If anyone else wants to sponsor a prize, let me know.

Travellers Warning! Eastern Provinia & Western Camaris
Rimmon & Yellowleaf and entire surrounding area - High Hazard Good chance to be caught up in this - better stay away!
Greyfell - Mild Hazard The war is coming to an end. As long as you stay out of Luxor [m44] in [ca52] and surrounding squares, you should be safe.
Harn - Hazard The Tanstagi are now at war with the Lords of the Crown, also the Southmarche seem to have become dragged into this. It is likely others might be inadvertently dragged into this as well.
Western Camaris - Ultimate Hazard! Crimson Dragons are at war, and have promised to slay all trespassers.

***** To All Factions: The continent of Camaris is an active war zone. Any noble there is liable to attack without warning.
In particular, any noble not present at the express invitation of the Foriegn Minister of the Crimson Dragons is considered by the Crimson Dragons to be a hostile noble, and will be attacked without warning. Express invitation means that he will say, "Come to this place and do this thing now." All offers to join the Crimson Dragons or to attack our supposed enemies are rejected unless specifically approved by our Foriegn Minister. If he doesn't say Yes, then he probably means No.
It is not our desire to attack neutral or "newbie" factions, we consider that a waste of valuable noble-days, but we are at war (which we also consider a waste of vaulable noble-days), despite our desires to the contrary, and as such we will fanatically defend the integrity of our claimed lands. We regard any entry to Camaris by any means as an invasion.
Uninvited guests will be regretfully hunted down and killed.
Don't come, we don't want you.
I hope the preceding is clear and to the point, and I regret the need to post this so often. *****
Speaking for the Crimson Dragon Ministry of Internal Security,
-- Cudgel [9129]
Greetings PLATO
Sorry, I can't stand it any longer.
1 year ago it was decided I would go undercover to reveal your strategies. For months I have spilled and leaked information, but now I want to go home.
I think I prefer the terror of my righfull lord Sir Codric over the selling of my soul to a demon as Oleg.
Because an oath is a contract between two men, with God as a witness, and because recent revelations have shown Oleg definetly isn't human, I am not bound by my oath.
I wish you no ill will, but I can guarantee our next encounter will be a bloody one.
yours no more,
-- Delphini Woodguard [6107]
