Travellers Warning! Eastern Provinia & Western Camaris

Rimmon & Yellowleaf and entire surrounding area - High Hazard Good chance to be caught up in this - better stay away! New hostilities have been reported in this area.

Greyfell - Mild Hazard The war is coming to an end. As long as you stay out of Luxor [m44] in [ca52] and surrounding squares, you should be safe. When preparing movement orders for this area, remember to add secondary directions - magical barriers have been observed.

Harn - Hazard The Tanstagi are now at war with the Lords of the Crown, also the Southmarche seem to have become dragged into this. It is likely others might be inadvertently dragged into this as well.

Western Camaris - Ultimate Hazard! Crimson Dragons are at war, and have promised to slay all trespassers.

Thank you 9129 Lord Cudgel I Thank you for your reply to my post and congradulate you for signing with "a nobel ID". I have tried several times this week to adress you on a personal level by using the e-mail adress of "9129@g2.pbm.com" yet I never get a reply? So I'll try this avenue. Perhaps you didn't recive them perhaps you didn't care to reply. While your rebutul of why the CA/LOC/NOE is nothing comapaerd to what AOO was, still the facts remain. NOE was pledged to LOC and CA nobels are in the LOC pledge chain. you can take these fact in any way you wish still they are facts and they do suggest a bigger picture than you want me to draw. Well I guess i'd better drop it befor you get mad and Aura Blast me.

***** To All Factions: The continent of Camaris is an active war zone. Any noble there is liable to attack without warning.

In particular, any noble not present at the express invitation of the Foriegn Minister of the Crimson Dragons is considered by the Crimson Dragons to be a hostile noble, and will be attacked without warning. Express invitation means that he will say, "Come to this place and do this thing now." All offers to join the Crimson Dragons or to attack our supposed enemies are rejected unless specifically approved by our Foriegn Minister. If he doesn't say Yes, then he probably means No.

It is not our desire to attack neutral or "newbie" factions, we consider that a waste of valuable noble-days, but we are at war (which we also consider a waste of vaulable noble-days), despite our desires to the contrary, and as such we will fanatically defend the integrity of our claimed lands. We regard any entry to Camaris by any means as an invasion.

Uninvited guests will be regretfully hunted down and killed.

Don't come, we don't want you.

I hope the preceding is clear and to the point, and I regret the need to post this so often. *****

Speaking for the Crimson Dragon Ministry of Internal Security,

And now, Speaking For Myself,

My last post drew this response.

" Greetings Lord Crudgel

Thank you for your kind words. I did not make my AOO charges out of hate or fear but from what it looks like on paper. I included the facts in my post but perhapos you missed them. Hear is how I formed my assumption. The fact that the NOE lands were pledged to Sir Codrik. Am I wrong in seeing a conection between those 2 alliances there? The second thing was that 9580 Lord Cendage a CA member is pledge to the LOC. These 2 things are no doubt more than a connection of friends and allies. These are the types of connections made by alliances and members. It appears these so called seperate entities NOE,LOC,CA are crossing those lines. So am I wrong in seeing the 3 as a single alliance? They are no doubt acting as a single alliance. Is it not words but actions that tell the true story?

Ebony Knight"

I've chosen to respond here for several reasons. Most importantly, I have a policy of minimising exposure of information to opponents whenever possible, a policy many of my allies also follow. Thus the CD does most communication outside of the alliance through our foriegn minister, while public nobles like myself head up pledge chains and make public announcements. The original charge was that because we had nobles in common pledge chains we were in fact a single alliance. This is a misunderstanding of why we put nobles in pledge chains and what constitutes an alliance as opposed to an arrangement of convienience.

Nobles are in pledge chains because any member of the pledge chain can 'GET' things from a garrison. I won't belabor the many ways that this simplifies orders. Thus, if different alliances are working toward a common goal such as defeating PLATO on Camaris, it makes sense for them to share access to pledge chains near the front. However, just because I share a pledge chain with someone does not mean we are allies in the sense that I think of allies. Indeed, there are CD members whom I have been allied with since turn 1 who are not in any pledge chain with me. Conversely, there are people whom I do not consider allies who have been in a pledge chain with me for many turns.

Since I consider pledge chains irrelevant to alliance, it is fair to ask what I do consider relevant. The answer is in the degree to which we share information about each other, our factions and our goals. I don't know the name of any member of NOE, although I support the common goal we share of defeating the RM. I know a few of the members of LotC, but I have a bare store of knowledge about their alliance. About the CD, though, I know vast amounts, and the reverse as well. The Lords are fellow travellers with a common goal, I coordinate actions with them sometimes. The membership of Crimson Dragon are my allies, and I plot and plan with them every turn.

Now if I may return to the original claim, that we are the "AOO" of this Olympia, I have to point out that this is not possible. The things that made the AOO unique are not present in this Olympia. After all, the AOO was just an alliance, and not the largest. They were experienced players, but not invincible, and in fact were nearly defeated in the early turns. What made the AOO what it was were it's absolute monopoly on Hades, Faery, and teleportation. It was those three things that made the AOO victorious.

In this Olympia, Hades is not a small area dense with graveyards. Hades now is a vast and tangled wilderness, where the outside world is seldom seen. Faery is not a small land with exits to every continent, it is a long narrow band of woodlands with exits that are few and far between in both worlds. As for teleportation, in this Olympia it is a modest alliance indeed that lacks a teleport-capable mage. In this Olympia, we cannot be the "AOO", because no alliance can.

For my faction, I am,

-- Cudgel [9129]

Rumors

The only good Lords are dead Lords

did it make it?

Curses I didn't get a wink last knight. After hearing of that Great Olympian Race last night I just can't stop thinking of the things I could do with 50,000 gold. Certainly I could stop breeding these horses.

So this morning I went through the herd and got my finest flying steed ready and headed to Greyfell to sign up for the race. I have never seen such a diverse and motley crue of Nobel's than I saw this morning in the race sign up line. Well except maybe at Lord Foul's funeral last year.

There I was in line with my finest flying steed and in front of me was a surly looking sailor with a half a dozen pirates at his side. In front of him was a purely evil looking excuse of a man with blood on his hands and a demon at his side who was knawing on an oxen leg. There must be half a dozen poor fools with normal horses and one guy with a dragon! I didn't know they were tameable. The guy at the front of the line was wearing a blue flowing robe with stars and moons all over it and was wearing a pointy hat. I didn't see his steed but he did have a bag of these funny looking crystals. No doubt this will certainly be an exciting adventure. I just wish I could get some sleep!

REALM OF LIGHT/DOA! Do I see a pattern hear? Or could it be the Greyfell Lords have turned over in their graves. Perhaps I should take these haunting dreams seriously?

I know a secret, shhhh.
