DescriptionThe year is 1935. The clouds of war are casting a long shadow. In Germany, the Enabling Act of 1933 has cemented the rise of one Adolph Hitler to power. In Italy, `Il Duce' Benito Mussolini has secured power, and invaded the nation of Ethiopia in the name of conquest; a purpose thought of as passé among most of Europe's leaders. An aggressive Japan is asserting itself in the Pacific, while the United States remains entrenched in isolation, and the other European powers, haunted by the specter of another World War, seem bent on appeasing the territorial ambitions of those willing to fight for them. These events seem a world away to the average citizen of Centralia, an Island nation in the Atlantic, located on the same latitude as the Central Mediterranean, but miles away from the continents. Here, citizens so far are more worried about day to day survival. The global economic crisis has been hard. Civil strife is rampant between the different ethnicities and cultures that make up the Island's population. 3,000,000 people struggle to make ends meet, all of whom are looking for hope. In "The Eye of the Storm" you will play a provincial governor on the island of Centralia. Your people are looking to you to make things better. This will be no easy task. To make things more complex, the age of ideology has arrived on the island. Communists, Democratists, Fascists, Republicans, and Socialists all vie for control of the Island's future, some with the support of much wealthier, much larger foreign interests. Civil War is a virtual certainty... how will you handle it?
