DescriptionEveryone knows the story of the Salem Witch Trials, a dark period in colonial Massachusetts where superstition and paranoia led to the deaths of far too many innocent men and women. But what if those innocent people weren't human at all and the story spun for the history books a tale to keep actual human suspicion at bay? The actions taken by the Salem Coven against the local werewolf Pack resulted in a fierce blood feud that spread throughout the world's witch and werewolf populations. The two groups were pitted against each other for over three hundred years. One year ago, that changed. In the town of Salem, an ancient and unpredictable magic was released from a long forgotten Russian tomb. This magic binds the lives of a wolf and a witch together, making the pair stronger but entwining their fates. With no other option, an Alliance was struck between the Volk of the Pack and the Materi of the Coven, bringing a tentative peace between the two groups. Now, old enemies are forced to work together, combining the physicality of the wolves and the shrewdness of the witches. They must take on long forgotten foes that neither group on their own could hope to stand against. Yet, despite their successes many still wonder - can shattered ties ever really be mended? *** Located in modern day Massachusetts, the game centers around a coven of witches and a pack of werewolves as they navigate the changes in their society while trying to live their life. While there is plenty of action to be found for those who want it, much of the game centers around the yin-yang relationship between the two groups as well as the group dynamics within each. Created five years ago, Shattered Ties has been consistently active and showing no signs of slowing down. We're looking for members who are in it for the long haul and enjoy building plots and relationships. We strive for quality writing and a writing sample will be required. More important than writing skill is a willingness to work well with others and actively participate; collaboration with your fellow writers is a huge part of Shattered Ties. Fair warning, we will not tolerate player drama; if you cannot compromise then please don't bother applying. This group is rated R for language, violence, and occasional tasteful (and clearly labeled) sexual situations. 18+ Only. If you are concerned about the age of the group and finding a place. Don't. If you show up with a solid character and are a decent writer, expect just about every member to pounce on you looking for new connections and plots. There is nothing we love more than new members and characters to mix things up a bit.
