DescriptionAre you sitting there, looking at your computer screen feeling like something's missing? Maybe you've lost that creative flame and are looking for something to come and reignite it? Or are you perusing cyberspace looking for something exciting, intriguing or adventurous? Dark Frontiers has what you're looking for; and, with the addition of two new ships, there's plenty of excitement, intrigue and adventure to go around! Two new ships you ask? Yes, two completely new ships! An anonymous source has confirmed that the USS Vanguard will be joining Starbase Sierra Six and the USS Lancelot in the Sierra Sector, and the USS Achilles will be heading up the newly opened Cygnus Sector. Both the Vanguard and the Achilles are looking for crew to speed them on their way to adventure! What does this mean, you ask? Well, let's take a look at the Sectors and new ships! On the Neutral Zone, the Seventh Fleet has the weighty task of monitoring the rapidly-destabilizing Romulan Star Empire. On the one hand, the Hobus Supernova destroyed the Romulan central government, leaving various factions scrambling for control, but on the other hand the collapse of the Imperial ministries and infrastructure has allowed client states and conquered races to emerge from their oppression and start to join the galactic stage. Based in the Sierra Sector, Starbase Sierra 6, USS Lancelot, and the USS Vanguard must navigate this complex situation, to promote peace, reach out to these emerging races, and protect the Federation's interests. On the other side of Federation Space, the 12th Fleet has been assigned to exploratory endeavors in the space between the Ferengi, Cardassians, and Tzenkethi, which is now under Federation influence. Bearing a torch into these unknown regions, Starfleet elements in this region have been tasked with finding allies, identifying threats, and otherwise illuminating the darkness. Based in the Cygnus Sector, the USS Achilles and her survey group are the first Federation ships in this area, truly going where no one has gone before. The USS Vanguard: The frigate USS Vanguard has recently been assigned to Task Group Excalibur, operating out of Starbase Sierra Six, in a response to the fractured and constantly shifting situation along the Romulan Neutral Zone following the Hobus disaster. Conflicting interests from the ambitious remnants of the Romulan Star Empire, the territory hungry Klingon Empire, as well as many smaller parties such as the Tholian Assembly and Gorn Hegemony have led to a melting pot in the vacuum left by the Romulan Star Empire. The fast and nimble Vanguard is ideally suited to help keep the peace and continue the Federation's aid and assistance efforts in the sector. However, aside from its usual rapid response, reconnaissance and small ship duties, the Vanguard has another purpose in the sector. Utilising the most up to date in Starfleet technology, and with a highly trained crew, the Vanguard is often tasked with deep cover missions, infiltrations and covert operations under the direction of Starfleet Special Operations. The road to peace is sometimes a rough one. Do you have the skills and the determination to do whatever is necessary to join the Vanguard in its hidden war for peace? If the USS Vanguard sounds like the ship for you, please take a look at her open positions here. Click the button on the bottom left to join! The USS Achilles: The 12th Fleet has been assigned to exploratory endeavors in the space between the Ferengi, Cardassians, and Tzenkethi, which is now under Federation influence. Bearing a torch into these unknown regions, Starfleet elements in this region have been tasked with finding allies, identifying threats, and otherwise illuminating the darkness. Based in the Cyngus Sector, the USS Achilles and her survey group are the first Federation ships in this area, truly going where no one has gone before. A prototype for a new breed of quantum slipstream-driven Intrepid-class light explorers, the Achilles is the fastest vessel yet built by Starfleet, and has a litany of other upgrades that makes her supremely qualified for these first steps into a strange part of the unknown blackness. With a mandate to promote peaceful expansion of Federation interests in the region and to enhance our scientific understanding, the Achilles must always walk a tight rope between the pursuit of truth and appeasement of our neighbors, both new and old. We invite you to have a look around and consider joining, if you would like to be part of a group that prizes excellent writing and character development. Assigned to mainly exploratory, scientific, and diplomatic missions, we will engage in cerebral storylines that prize character interaction and growth above pure action, while retaining those adrenaline-packed moments that pepper any good Star Trek story. The USS Achilles is looking for crew, most importantly an Executive Officer.
