You know, as an enhancement to Greg's suggestion about bribing a noble
to desert, it might be interesting to work it so that without spending
NPs you could bribe the noble to follow your orders for the rest of the
turn, after which time the noble might or might not desert.
Or, if you want to make it more complicated but even more interesting,
you could hold a bribed noble in reserve (as a sleeper), getting to issue
him orders for one turn (and one turn only) at the time of your choice.
