I think that you should look at it the other way. There should be
a mecanism for people to have their messages "Authenicated". i.e.
some mechanism so that a person can publish something that everyone
*knows* came from them.
If you include any, I would suggest 2. as it can still allow for
some amount of deception (if the player isn't familiar with your
faction), but this can be overcome by scrying, etc.
