Regardless of the other problems of a hex based system, I think it is
clear that when you consider the proposed scale LOS should virtually
never be a consideration. Remember that the proposed hexes are one or
two days travel across. LOS only comes into play if there is at least
one intervening hex. So what we are talking now is some 50 miles of
distance at the very least. Regardless of intervening terrain there
is not very much you can see at that distance except under the most
extreme of circumstances.
