PLEASE NOTE: IN ORDER TO BE PUT ON THE LIST, YOU HAVE TO PASS MY TEST. MOST APPLICANTS IGNORE THE TEST, AND THUS FAIL IT. This means they waste their time, and they waste my time. Read all of the text on this page before you fill out the form.
This list is juried, but only in a very minimal fashion. An ideal merchant would have enough information by every item that your customers won't have to ask, "but when and where was this item actually used?". And your customers would never walk out of your store with an un-authentic item thinking it was authentic.
Few merchants are ideal, but some definitely don't make the grade. Examples of things which make a merchant fail are:
If you sell "traditional" items (old, but not known how old), or items for other re-enactor eras, such as English Civil War or US Civil War, I would like you to label these items clearly. You can do this in one of 3 ways: You can label every item in your catalog with a time period. You can divide your catalog into sections, which each section having a similar time period. Or you can make a special SCA-specific section of your catalog in which you cross-list items which are suitable for the SCA time period.
Just so you know, my pet peeve is merchants which stock both traditional and early music, without indicating which is which. It's very easy for the average customer to become confused by such a setup.
