Kingdom of Atlantia Old Event Details: November 1995

The September Acorn *does* have the flyer provided by the Autocrats for Crown Tourney...However, they wanted me to use their flyer as sent so I cut and pasted it. For some reason they decided to use a ***very*** stylized font. It is *extremely* difficult to read. I will attempt to get a more readable copy from them for the October Acorn.

The main points in the flyer are as follows:

Greetings!

Unfortunately, some of the Arts and Science information was not able to make it into the flyer for the upcoming Crown Tourney. I have listed them all below:

Back-Logged Scroll Competition (this information is in the flyer - prize will be given)

Hiding Your Mundane Stuff - This was at the request of Her Majesty to compliment the Cooler Cover competition done at Coronation. Please enter anything in this competition that you feel adds to the ambiance of an event by hiding the many mundane necessities that we must bring with us. For instance, cans, flashlights, coolers (yes, if you missed it once...try again), diaper bags, snack food, chairs, tables, and on and on. A prize will be given to the winner. Her Majesty will also pick Her favorite entry in the competition.

Open Display - This is for works-in-progress, static and working displays, finished pieces that don't fit into the other categories. This is not a competition but a display. It is an opportunity for your work to be seen and/or for your work to inspire others. If you have something you have been working on, please consider displaying it for others. Contacts of like interests and many inspirations for research are initiated by seeing a display that you admire. Paper and pencils will be provided for comments and exchange of addresses for interested individuals.

MoAS Table - I will have a table set up for two hours in which to distribute flyers, correct/verify warrant information and receive reports. I will also be available at that time to answer any questions and receive your suggestions on ways to encourage the arts and sciences in Atlantia.

In service,
Deirdre, KMOAS

The Brewing Workshop at Highland Foorde

November 18th, 1995

Come join the spirited folk of Highland Foorde in a celebration of grape and grain. The event will start with expert guest speakers and discussions on the subject of beer, wine, and cordial making. _Novices_: We will brew at least one batch of beer on-site and discuss the basics of brewing. _Experienced Brewers_: Lean new techniques; find contacts for hard-to-get supplies; and best yet, swap recipes. Please bring any of your alcoholic efforts for praise and critique. After dusk, we will gather by the bonfire for the traditional pastime of drinking and carousing with companions.

The event will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will run until approximately midnight. The site is at enormous home on 8 acres of land. Be aware that neither the house nor the grounds are child proof. $12.00 includes a catered feast that will be enjoyed by both carnivores and vegetarians. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided for those who wish to drive home, but crash space and tent space will be available. If you have any questions, contact your friendly autocrats, Baron Silver (MKA Alan Feldman) or Wrynne of Wistan (MKA Debra Dunbar) at 19511 Porterstown Rd, Keedysville, MD 21756, (301)416-2882.

P.S. Baron Silver will be celebrating his 40th birthday on the 15th. Please remind him of his immense age at every opportunity during the event.
