Dear Donald,

It seems that you have misinterpreted and misrepresented the actions
of the G4 Dragonlords. We are not sure why you hold such malice
towards us, and we apologize if our actions seemed to you to be
oppressive at the time, as that was certainly not our intent. In
fact, we don't recall ever being contacted by you to voice your
concerns, as we would have happily listened.

The primary goal of our alliance is peaceful cooperation in acheiving
our individual goals. We are not a military alliance, and have no desire
to bully other factions. The world is a much more interesting place when
more people live in it.

We write here to answer the accusations you have put forth.

1) The only "rules" that we have ever set down for anyone besides
ourselves was that we would declare hostile any noble or faction who
attacked another in Imperial City. This has since been modified
to include banishment from IC for those who disturb the welfare
of the peasants or ignore property rights. We believe these
rules to be of benefit to all, and especially to new players.

We have always been open to modifying our policies if there is
a sufficient demand from other players. However, no one has ever
suggested a better policy. We are listening.

2) The only noble who was ever purposefully attacked was that of a
player who told us that he had quit and had not issued the "quit"
command yet (the noble was removed from an inner location). In
fact, his nobles have remained motionless inside IC for over 30
turns now (must be expensive!) But this is documented in The Gods
Speak newsletter, as you know.

> >>built a castle in the starting city.

So? Anyone could have built a castle in the starting city. We advertised
this fact several turns before the building started, and there were
no protests.

The Dragonlords have existed from turn#1 (well, really turn#2 since there
was
no turn #1). Aside from the attack of a non-player noble, and another
accidental attack on another Dragonlord, there have been no other attacks
on anyone, and the world has been very peaceful.

These were all explained in the newsletter. Obviously, you will believe
what you want to believe, but those are the facts.

Some people think that a challenging game is more fun (though very
few nobles have been lost in the almost 40-turn history of the game),
but each person has their own taste.

We do agree that the starting city situation was a bit ridiculous
(only 30-40 recruitable peasants available each turn, with everyone
starting in the same city) but that problem has since been relieved.

We have never declared a faction hostile, and are willing to work with
anyone who contacts us. We leave everyone else alone.

To all others:

The G4 world is certainly large enough to support many more factions.
So far, only about 15% of the provinces have been visited, by our
estimation (there are over 10,000 provinces). There is plenty of land
to go around, and a lot of things to do. A few areas are more challenging
than G2, but the game itself is much-improved and the moderator
is quick to respond to any problems. If you think you might be
interested in joining the game, you can find our New Players Page
on the web at http://tagdragon.virtualave.net/new.html -- be sure
to also check out Donn's excellent resource for G2 players joing TAG.

Thank you,

The Dragonlords
