Greetings Fellow Olympians,
The Olympian Times off late, has unfortunately degenerated into a cheap =
boulevard paper. The Crimson Dragons , dominating the more serious =
content for time immemorial with their boring notifications, apparantly =
have decided to enliven the ailing medium with some more gossip. It =
certainly is most flabbergasting.
Lord Cudgel proves capable of attributing himself with a vivid =
imagination, a short memory and a bewildering lack of knowledge. I do =
not know off Lord Cudgel over and beyond that his name keeps reappearing =
beneath , as he himself admits, a gruffy column , which I am sure we all =
are ignoring every month. I have never spoken to or with Lord Cudgel nor =
have I ever received messages emanating from his Lordly demeanor.
Amazingly, we have, for over 30 Olympian months now, been trading on and =
off Camaris with the very specific approval of Cudgels boss, the most =
austere and august Lord Cendage. We did so in the outermost SE corner of =
Camaris , which we turned from ghastly wilderness into a thriving =
economic centre. No wonder Lord Cudgel has turned his eye on this remote =
part of the Crimson realm. There are plenty of tradegoods available for =
instant exploitation and all within 1 turns sailing away from other =
economic centres. There are plenty of towers to pack with administrative =
officials overlooking and supervising commercial ventures.
Naturally upon the founding of the Greyfell Lords as a new alliance, =
preparations were in progress to divest ourselves from our commercial =
interests on Camaris which we handed over to the Crimson Dragons for =
free. Thank you. Only 1 noble party didn't quite manage to complete the =
final traderun in time, but is most certainly also headed home, to join =
and share in the much needed rebuilding of the war-torn Greyfell area. =
Again Lord Cendage was fully aware and apprised of the planning and =
retrieval of our assets from Camaris. In fact we were exchanging =
messages as late as last month , that is month 3 in the season Blossom =
Bloom of the year 20. The last thing we wanted was to antagonize the =
local inhabitants of Camaris.
We have no interest whatsoever in the continent of Camaris, just as the =
Crimson Dragons have as Lord Cudgel maintains no interest in Provinia. =
In the interest of many, may I suggest that the Crimson Dragons shore up =
their lines of communication. Then at last Lord Cudgel may blossom into =
a widely respected and aloof diplomat, capable of avoiding situations in =
which the most austere Lord Cendage is forced to render his most sincere =
apologies, a trait by the way, at which Lord Cendage excells. Perhaps =
one more will be forthcoming :-)
Lastly may I thank Lord Cendage for his hospitality which lasted for =
almost 4 Olympian years. It was highly appreciated and I would be more =
than happy to repay this hospitality in kind. Whenever your travels, =
Lords Cendage and Cudgel, are taking you to the most bustling city of =
Greyfell we will be more than happy to give you a most royal greeting. =
No advance warning is needed, no permission to stay will be required.=20
Cosimo I
Duke of Greyfell =20
