Greetings Fellow Olympians,

The once venerable Eric the Seahawk has brought serious charges =
against me and has accused me in person of venal conduct. This is =
unacceptable. The web is an insecure medium in which many are prowling =
with sordid motives indeed. It is anyone's rseponsibility, not excluding =
the Seahawk, to think through the potential consequences of one's =
actions and demonstrate the decency to properly address in-play =
characters. Had EtS brought these charges against me in public he would =
have found himself to be the defendant in a libel-suit in which he =
would, in any courthouse in the western world, have been condemned for =
slander.=20

The simple fact that I was not amused by him adressing me in person =
was brought to his attention. He has responded by lightheartedly making =
my concerns public and gloatingly dismissing them as irrelevant and =
being the result of my own actions as a player-entity. The picture The =
Seehawk is painting here is false. It can easily be demonsttrated and =
irrefutably proved that Eric the Seahawk was or should have been aware =
of the in-game character names I am using in dealings with many =
factions. Contrary to Eric the Seahawk this doesnt fill me with joy.To =
what purpopse Eric is misrepresenting the facts and disseminating =
disinformation, I do not know.

I still have a copy of a mail that I sent Eric some 6 Olympian =
years ago. The mail was a reply to Eric , functioning then as TIB =
foreign affairs minister , who had demanded of me , a rookie, in a =
rather haughty tone to provide certain information. To paraphrase the =
tonesetting of his mail was like this: "Hey You, I dont know who you are =
but etc." In my reply I signed with Perceval (Parcifal is the Dutch =
equivalent as the LoTC will attest), Prince of Llangollen. I added that =
he could also call me Peter , provided his mails were friendly. Things =
were sorted out and in his subsequent mails he has been calling me Peter =
ever since, to which I had no objections since all mails were private or =
so I thought. Now that he has chosen to go public things are a little =
different I think.

Moreover Eric has a counting problem . In the events leading up to =
Eric making his accusations public I have sent him exactly 2 mails (not =
4 as he maintains) and a copy of a mail addressed to another faction. =
That copy was signed Cosimo di Bicci, etc. Now Eric maintains that I go =
under the character name of Mordred. Is this a figment of his vivid =
imagination or did he borrow it from his friend Sir Codric who, without =
hesitation, rushed to his support. Mordred is the user name of the =
office of my Lord Privy Seal. Besides I have never had any contact with =
Sir Codric or other LoTC nobles. I have never ever made Sir Codric or =
any other LoTC Noble a proposal. This may be testified by the fact that =
Sir Codric , using and suggesting a subject-line thread, has =
conveniently pasted out the thread. If there wasnt even a thread the =
portent of what he is suggesting is even more serious. However I do not =
blame Sir Codric. As I understand it he is currently exploring the =
covert world and may have lost touch with the overt world.=20

In Olympia there is no courthouse , nor a courtroom, neither a High =
Judge. Ther are only Jurors and to the Jurors, comprising all noble =
Lords in Olympia, I feel compelled to plead my case. In advance I will =
submit that my defense may well, wholly or in part, be futile and that =
my faction and its nobles will be cast under a cloud for a long period =
to come, perhaps indefinitely. So be it. To those who morally are =
attributed with a more austere posture which befits their august =
apperances I would say : Hear me out and give us a chance.

Firstly Eric submits that the Greyfeel privateers ar "my" new =
alliance. It is not. One of my partners was approached and asked whether =
he would be interested in joining a new alliance. The matter was =
referred to me and I made inquiries. I was informed that thsi new =
alliance would be formed with the intent to fill the void as and when =
the NoE had been beaten decisively by the RM. We, my partners and I had =
been searching for land for a while and had had discusiions with some =
alliances to explore possibilities and see whether they could help us =
out. I decided to learn more about this new alliance and entered the =
fray or rather I should say the political arena of which Eric professes =
to be a master.=20

One of the founding members of the GP provided me with a map what =
they believed to be NoE territory. From first glance its was obvious to =
me that that map was not up to date and inaccurate. It listed farnham's =
Freehold as NoE territory. I knwe the castle existed , had a couple of =
provinces garrisoned but was unsure of its owner at that point of time. =
Then events picked up on me. One of my partners was suddenly offered =
land in the vicinity, outside NoE territory and finally I surmised who =
the owner of Farnham's Freehold was or had been. Ther was however a =
problem. If fellow Olympians you care to look at the public turn reports =
of faction nn3 on turn 86 and faction zy2 on turn u will notice that the =
castleowners were different. One of the nobles I knew so I sent him a =
letter. It was also evident that more land had been garrisoned and I =
asked them not to garrison more lands but start talking. That mail went =
out before I learned that we were offered land. So I felt myself in a =
political pinch since I understood Eric was trying to help us in his own =
inimitable ways. I felt I could not retireve myself from that situation =
, regarde that option as disloyal to the other founding members of GP. =
So I wrote Eric a mail telling him "that I knew what he had done" =
without telling him what I knew, I wsnt even directly referring to =
Farnham's Freehold, I was referring to his intentions. Rather cryptic =
indeed. Eric had certain intentions at that time and now Eric will know =
what the cryptic part related to. A little later I received confirmation =
from another source about the portent of Eric's intentions. Anyway I =
mailed him, twice asking for help as I saw a big window of opportunities =
here. If NoE was to be beaten by RM and a new alliance was to fill the =
void would Eric be willing to help establish a new independant realm =
which also included the Farnham Freehold and another realm. yes I did =
bring up the Bane question and yes i reminded him and others of the TIB =
promise made at that time and yes I said that I personally would not =
make that public. (During the period of the Bane war I had sent him a =
mail asking whether a small portion of former bane lands could be =
alooted to me and my partners. Eric then showered me in a blanket of =
silence.). Eric however superimposed various mails, some sent to him, =
some to others and concluded that I was trying to blackmail him, to =
extort land from him, whilst at the same time he was going to help us. =
The fact of the matter was, I was not blackmailing him, I meant what I =
said. Eric happens no t believe this and his view has prevailed amongst =
his friends.

But why would I be blackmailing him whilst at the same time I felt I =
was helping him. During my discussions with Eric and others I was asked =
by RM generals whether I had ships around to transport troops for an =
attack at a NoE castle. After I made inquiries with thsi general it =
happened Farnham's Freehold was the target as well as a stack of =
preseumed NoE nobles in a province near Greyfell. I was astounded and =
informed this general that his intel was faulty, that both the castle =
and the stack were TIB assets. (I can hear a roar of laughter now =
emergging from Yellowstone), hence off limits. Why would I do that when =
I was blackmailing him ? I cant see the logic. The RM general was not =
entirely convinced and asked me whether I knew for sure the stack =
consisted entirely of TIB noblses. As a matter of fact I didnt know for =
sure so I asked Eric and other TIB members. Eric's answer I received =
about at the same time as and when he made his public accusations. TIB =
obliged by answering me within the hour. That settled the question. So =
Sir Codric there is indeed no need for you to come to Eric's rescue. I =
have personally rescued him myself.

I must stress that I did not keep the other founding fathers of GP =
abreast of these developments and that I pretty much acted on my own as =
I saw fit. That being said I was interested only in the settlement of a =
new neutral alliance, provided RM would beat NoE, in the greater =
Greyfell area which would dedicate itself to trade, exploration, and =
developing the lnads with plenty of opportunities for a great many =
factions. If this is called plotting, then let it be called plotting, I =
would rather use the phrase planning and working to get my name down in =
the history books.There is no need to implicate Lord Foul Or Maltar or =
others. I was not the mouthpiece of others. If I am a dupe as Eric =
presumes I am just duped by my own actions. Eric has stated he is waging =
a political war on me, whatever that may mean. If he would say to having =
embarked on a slander campaign , he is right, I would agree. If and when =
I leave the political arena the political war, if there is any such =
thing, would be over. Would the slander be over as well, that is the =
question.

Fellow Olympians I have put this case forward as I see it and will =
not burden you with it any longer. It will be my only mail on the =
subject. For me it is over and done with.If you want final judgement =
passed than I shall commend a most august person and will provide him =
with full entry to the offices of my Lord Privy Seal to peruse the mails =
that went back and forth.=20
