Re: Ergoth Attack on Annuin/Port Royal

I noticed everyone [correctly] retstrained themselves from asking the
ICLF to diplomatically intervene on any front. I should feel slighted
but I realize my diplomatic skills are rated somewhere to the right
of Oleg the Loudmouth.

Setting aside all the posturing, finger-pointing, histrionics and
name calling, let us see if I can boil this down to componants as well
as throw my own slant to this whole affair. I will follow statements
where I am guessing with [?] so that you, too, can distinguish what I
belive to be true from "facts".

A force of Ergoth troops marched through Musketeer lands to invade
the territories of a player who dropped. This player had formerly
crossed swords with Ergoth, but had made peace[?]. When this player
quit, he told the Musketeers that they could have his former lands.
His lands are not former Ergoth lands[? I am assuming this, as they
had to march through Musketeer lands to get there].

Musketeer leadership attempted to contact the interlopers once
or [?]twice[?] prior to sending the threatening letter to an
unresponsive Ergothian. Of course the Ergothian published the
message that would best garner him support from certain quarters.

And to read the Ergothian manifesto [I should concisely state:
THIS Ergothian's manifesto], borders matter naught. They may go
where they wish and do what they want. I thought they had a treaty
with the Musketeers[?]. If this is so, then we see that to this
Ergothian, his word is law...when it suits him. And this he calls
freedom, using theatrical references to imply that he and his people
have been a subject state under the thumb of foreign occupation.
ARISE all ye Ergothian peoples and throw off the yoke of your
Musketeer Oppressors! [snicker snicker snort chortle chuckle chuckle].

And now the ICLF slant. I had heard, oh, 6 to 8 [Terran] months ago
that there was a _faction_ within the Ergothian "Union" that sought to
get involved in the Musketeer/LotC war on the side of the LotC. My
sources were unsure as to whether this was merely an opportunist
wishing to exploit the apparant weakness of the Musketeers, or if
this "faction" was under the influence of the Lords, Cendege [as
was Silas] or Mickey Mao [man-in-the-moon marigolds?].

So to the mind of the ICLF, this ONE Ergothian house has, on his own hook,
decided to precipitate a war with his neighbors, in violation of his
alliance's treaties, now that there has been a change in the Ergothian
leadership. Of course, as far as I know [and I freely admit my knowledge
of Ergoth is REALLY LIMITED] this may be the only active faction left
in Ergoth, in which case, he IS the voice of Ergoth, and not some randy
adventurer/activated mole.

So rather than hearing from PLATO and the LORDs, I'd like to hear what the
OTHER factions of Ergoth have to say. Is this invasion an Alliance
decision,
or a faction decision? Under new management, are all your treaties now
void? Do borders mean naught to you but a line on paper that you may ignore
as you see fit? Is this a concensus, or the act of one lone man?

Second Chance
for the ICLF

PS:

Seahawks need naught reply. Just sit back and read. Enjoy. Ohm.....
Ohm..... Ohm.....
