As I mentioned before, I never saw Donny's original post to the List/Greg. I
saw the original question....I saw Greg's reply....and I saw Greg's reply to
Donny....but I never saw Donny's post to Greg.
After this conversation started I was shown a copy of Donny's email to Greg.
In it Donny used some language that I think was inappropriate and uncalled
for. If I had seen this post I never would have jumped into the discussion
on Donny's "side". I think that under the circumstances Donny deserved
whatever response Greg felt fit to issue and, frankly, Greg showed restraint
in his reply.
My opinion that Greg's answer to the first question was a bit brisk still
holds true. I thought that when I first read it, before ever seeing the
exchange with Donny. But I didn't say anything because if it was "rude" it
was so mildly rude as to not be worth a post to the list and hardly worth a
thought. Greg is right that what he wrote could have been taken as "rude" or
"concise" depending on the reader's predisposition.
So, in closing, I think Donny over reacted in his reply to Greg and used
language that should not be used in a game setting (this is for fun,
remember?). Greg's reply to my post was a bit
off-putting/defensive/challenging but I see now that he was probably still a
bit charged up from the email from Donny and much of what he said was not
directed at me but was directed in general to the "flames" he had received on
the matter (but the flame was from Donny, no me). So, I bow out of the
conversation and apologise for jumping in without all the facts. If Donny's
email had appeared on the list, or if Greg had included the whole email in
his reply, I would have been content to sit on the sideline.

Allow me to start one off........Is it cheating to use bugs? :-)
