Being rather new, I have a few questions about how combat is resolved. I've
been reading over the rules quite closely, and it's somewhat ambiguous as to
the exact implementation of the algorithm used. So, I have some questions,
and will be quite grateful if anyone can answer them.
1) "A random man is chosen from the attacking side to hit a random target on
the defending side."
Is this a random selection from all valid attackers on the attacking side? (I
assume yes.)
Does this allow re-selection of an attacker who has already attacked?
Is this "hit" resolved before item 2 below?
2) "A random defender is similarly chosen to hit a random target from the
attacking side."
Is this random selection from all valid attackers on the defending side?
Does it include peasants/workers/sailors?
Does it include the previously "hit" target from step 1?
5) "Repeat until a side breaks. A side breaks when its total offensive plus
defensive value falls by 50%."
Is this check performed between item 1 and item 2, or only after 1 - 4 have
resolved?
Is the break point 50% of the _original_ offense + defense, or 50% of what it
was at the beginning of the round? (I assume 50% of original.)
Is the offensive value for missile-range troops it's full missile value, or
it's modified (for weather) value?
Thanks much, in advance, for your help.
