I was interpreting from what you said above when you wrote that Codric was
probably a new faction. You seemed to accept that assertion (albeit with
reservations).

So, if the phrase "possibly new" was substituted for "new," then that
would be correct?

You attacked a possibly new faction; this possibly new faction responded;
this possibly new faction is now an enemy. Is that better? Is that what,
condensed, your original message was getting at?
