It isn't. Oleg hates being misrepresented. He thinks you should ask
Eric why he's working so hard to ensure that Plato is seen as
warlike. That's not in Eric's best interests -- nor his alliance's
best interests -- unless he wants to attack Plato. Doesn't make any
sense, but he's doing it.

No, because we're friends with all our Eagle Alliance neighbors, and
we have peace with the New Empire. So we do follow that rule, except
when people named "Eric" start rewriting history. ]

Given that Eric dropped the pro-newbie clause from the treaty, I

Then why is Eric rewring history and portraying Plato as being
warlike? Why is Eric so personally upset over this whole thing (you
should see his private email to me, whew!) And why is Eric criticizing
Oleg's reasonable peace proposal -- if I'm so warlike, then why did I
say that peace was easy to have in this case? Beats me.

Eric claims to be a diplomat, not Oleg. Oleg has no stake in being
publically nice to Eric; Oleg is merely attempting to remove the cause
of war. Maybe Oleg will win the 2nd Olympia Peace Prize by being a
Loudmouth. Maybe Eric will change his name to Eric the Also
Loudmouth. Maybe the horse will learn to sing.
