Contrary to Mark ideas, these would certainly upset the balance of the game.

Altough your ideas are covered with logic, that is not the issue here. What
will you do to those players who have invested most of their times in creating
ocean trade routes and even the very choice of their place of settlement has
been with those goals in mind?

I doubt you'll see them in g2. I for once strongly object and I am pretty
sure I am not alone. If they were there from the start of the game I would be
all for it, but not put in the middle of an ongoing game.
