The problem with knowing the spells before you research them is you
would then decide before you research them whether there any good
whereas in the "real world" you do research into a unknown area and
somtimes you get a lead which then leads onto somthing else etc etc ,I
think the best way to do such things is to research into a general
area ie say you where trying to learn about fire ball spell you would
research into fire magic and then you would be able to discover a fire
spell, I agree that each period of time should create a minimum amount
of research with a little bit of randomness thrown in allowing for you
mage to take that extra long tea break or work through his lunch (yea
its going to happen) and if a more randomness is needed it could be in
the time taken for example after you have spent 50% of the time
researching a particular spell you have a 50-50 chance of striking
lucky and with each passing turn the chance of getting lucky increases
untill you have spent 100% of the time and automatically get the spell
, but this will probebrly complicate the game even more and as I'm new
to spell research I'm not 100% certain how the magic research works

Well thats my 2p worth ,what are others veiws.
