I've also thought something like this would be nice.

Good idea, though it is limited to people who happen to have a garrison in
the province in question.

I agree that most new ideas should not be implemented midstream, but I still
think discussing the ideas have merit. I think this is a perfect case in point,
somebody suggests an enhancement they would like to see, and somebody else
points out a way a similar effect can be implemented within the current rules.
Also, what motiviation is there for considering a G3 until a fair number of
ideas have been suggested, discussed, modified, and analyzed?

That being said, here are my ideas regarding the cache command (If you're
not interested then you can stop reading at this point.)

I think a cache command would be very interesting. My thoughts were that
cache could be created and items put in and out using give and get.
Another command would allow the players to hide a cache. Build Cache could
be a skill under Construction and Hide Cache a skill under Stealth.

Objects hidden could be found via explore, and extra time could be spent
preparing a good hiding place. Maybe if I was hiding something very valuable
I could spend two weeks hiding it instead of 1 and it would be twice as
difficult for others to find via explore.

Another related skill would be booby-trap (must be learned through research).
A noble with this skill could place traps around the cache and if the trap goes
off it could cause damage proportional to the number of days spent setting the
traps. When a cache is discovered the booby-traps have a chance of not being
noticed. If someone attempts to take an item from the cache the traps may go
off injuring the noble or the members of his or her party. The chance of it
going off would be 50%. If the traps are seen then this would be cut in half.
If the noble has the booby trap skill it would be cut in half. So, an
unskilled
noble unaware of the traps would have a 1:2 chance of trigger them, but a
skilled noble aware of the traps would only have a 1:8 chance of setting them
off.

So what do other people think? Is it too soon to start considering ideas for
G3? Does anybody think cache/hide/booby-trap would be useful additions?
