Y'know, I have all kinds of ideas for rules that could help the game too,
but it ain't gonna happen in G2. Rich has showed time and time again that
he will not intervene or change rules in midstream, and I respect him for
that. The point is, even the most simple rules can have enormous, hideous,
unforeseen consequences...observe GIVE in G1. Also, remember that some
people in Olympia believe in looooong term strategies...it's hard to
imagine any rule that wouldn't screw somebody somewhere. Rich knows that,
for every proposal, there would be ten people screaming bloody murder if he
implemented it, so why should he make extra work for himself?
If Rich ever announces that there will be a G3, and if he solicits advice
from us as to how he can make it better, THEN will be the time to haul out
all these ideas.
