I'm not sure what you mean by this. The rulebook does not cover several
issues, which only through experience or allies you can figure out.
Insofar as players' ingenuity is the cause of some of these things, it's an
aspect of the game which I kinda' enjoy.
Also, the rulebook has some mistakes in it, & PCTG is clearly an example of
this. If you think that a game must be 100% non-buggy before you fork over
some dough to play it, then you probably won't want to play any PBeM games.
At least none that I've seen.
Finally, there's something to self-reliance. Sauron didn't _know_ the
elves would become aware of him when he made the ruling ring, & he didn't
email Rich asking to find out before he took the risk. He had to try it &
learn the hard way.
