Agreed that a blow by blow would be huge, however something more than
xxxx wins and a list of the dead would be nice.

Maybe a round by round report,
attacker lost 12 soldiers 2 pikemen killing 19 skeletons
attacker lost 7 soldiers and a noble was wounded killing 12
skeletons
the attacker is victorious.

This of course could be improved indicating running totals of combat
able bodies etc.

There's a trivial fix -- limit the report to the first 100 lines. To
be honest, it will not be useful for even the typical quest, there are
places where you can hit 50 skeletons, etc.
