Another war? Good. Maybe this time the
peaceniks will mind their own business and
let the rest of us have some fun.
My prediction? The Codrickers have some
impressive forces, but they probably stand
alone. Their "diplomacy" has been nonexistent.
The Harn Alliance is big, and I hear they
have powerful friends in Rimmon and Nantassarn.
When the dust settles the LotC may no longer
exist as a viable alliance: maybe Eric the
Peacehawk will allow them refuge on Ormos,
the home for defeated empires.
The big question is, of course, what will PLATO do?
The Codrickers timing was not smart, as they
attacked virtually within days of arousing the
public displeasure of Captain Arrr and Ming the
Merciless. If PLATO joins the battle, or even
a few of their factions, the Codrickers better
start begging for mercy in a hurry if they want
to be left with anything. If PLATO doesn't, then
one has to wonder who, if anyone, is really in
charge over there. Don't ask the Loudmouth, all
he'll do is insult you and bray about newbie
rights.
Another tasty rumor is that the LotC is really
part of EAGLE. If true, and my connections are
willing to stake their tainted repuations on
it, then the ships may be expected to sail
from Camaris again, although only for another
outbreak of attackus interuptus? EAGLE,
for such a proud bird, so far hasn't shown
us much in the way of heart. As fellow avians,
we are ashamed.
In any case, those of us circling above the
battlefields expect to be well fed for the
next few months. It's about time.
