*** Play Arena for FREE ***
Arena is a PBEM gladiator-combat game set in the Imperial City. Players design and train gladiators to fight in a variety of arenas or in the dangerous but rewarding dungeons underneath the City. Successful gladiators purchase powerful magic weapons from the shops of the city, train with the finest teachers, spend their nights at quiet and restful inns, and enjoy the best in medical care at the Imperial City Hospital. Unsuccessful gladiators sleep on the streets or in the rude cots of the gladiator dormitories, buy second-hand weapons at pawn shops, and rely on faith healers when injured. Some gladiators join one of the many churches in the City, fighting for the honor (and with the magical help of) their god. Others form teams and compete for team prizes and awards.
Turns run every weekday night, so the action is fast and furious.
As a special offer, Olympia players who sign up for Arena before the end of May will receive $5 in free game play. Arena charges only $1 to create a gladiator and $0.50 to fight a combat. All other gameplay is free, so the credit is enough to create three gladiators and fight in four battles.

To all citizins of Provinia:
Once again the forces of evil have been defeated. A few months ago a group of Harpies were discovered and defeated. An just this past month a group of foul, stenching, undead were detected and destroyed by the Guardians of the Realm. We regret the lose of life on our side at both encounters. Let us all remember them for their courage, dedication to duty and the ultimate sacrifice they paid to keep the citizens of Provinia safe from evil. We, the Guardians, will always remember them and will continue to fight against the forces of evil, wherever they may be.
Peace and long life to you all,
Guardian Brightstar, Lord and Commander, Guardians of the Realm

A gentle reminder for those in the Drassa area. The TIBs alliance is attempting to make the region a safer place to live. There is no killing of nobles allowed around Drassa, and no castle building. If interested in the TIB alliance, feel free to contact us. Live in Peace, and Make Lots of Money.

We have a new world before us. This unknown, unexplored land mass is just waiting for someone to find all it has in store.
We, The Travelers, are attempting to map this large world, but we can not do it alone. If you would be willing to donate the land portions of your turn to our efforts, you will be assisting in one of the greatest projects in Olympian History!
We also collect and distribute land claims and gate information.
Send us mail: hc8@g2.pbm.com! Visit us on the Web: http://www.spiretech.com/~jeffh/olympia/

THE ILLUSTRATED MAN'S SMITHY, CURIO SHOP, & TATTOO PARLOR
NEW THIS TURN!
An alliance has contacted your favorite tattooed merchant with news of a tower in Azrain/Yellowleaf that is being tenanted, but not used. This tower is finished and ready for use: just contact me and make me an offer for this prime piece of real estate!
The following items are currently for sale:
Wood: 8 gp, quantity 80+ Far cheaper than Yellowleaf's prices! Crossbows: 15 gp, quantity 7 Blast those monsters with ease, with the Illustrated Man's fine weapons! Horses: 80 gp, quantity 5 Cheaper than Elantir! Cheaper than Trullion! Let the IM fulfill all your equine needs!
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST>>>>
Maps: 50 gp The Maps of the Illustrated Man were famous throughout G1. Now you too can own your own personal maps of the world and the Yellowleaf area. These aren't just indecipherable ascii, or little colored blocks. Every terrain and interior location have their own graphic design or symbol. Background grids make finding locations easy. Plus, every 20x20 area has its own coordinate chart...no more scrolling all over the place looking for what number a particular province is. Our maps cover considerably more territory than other publicly available maps. Our northwestern border reaches to or nearly to Halith, Rhonius, Ganith, Cado, and Sesklos. Never heard of those cities? Then you'll need us, won't you? Best of all, the Illustrated Man will mail your map right to your house. Just give us your street address and we will mail you a map directly, in full color, suitable for hanging by your computer. Also, act now and we'll send you a fully legible map of the known world. You can get your map for free if you let us know 7 or more provinces that we didn't have before...namely, provinces around or to the northwest of the cities previously named. All info must be fully publishable. If you'd like to know our reputation, ask anyone from G1! They'll tell you! Buy in now, and get a discount on future editions! If you hail from Yellowleaf, you need to visit

Rumors
So you've got the skull, eh? The fairest way might be to put it up for sale in Azrain/Yellowleaf -- least risk of anyone getting screwed, and both buyer and seller can be anonymous through skill 731. I'll start the bidding at 250 gold, which I should have in two turns. Later in the game it will be worth a lot more, but right now money and mana are low all around...
To whoever posted the rumor about Yellowleaf/Harn pirates last turn: It is to the advantage of all honest traders to nip this kind of activity in the bud. Can whoever posted this give any further information, such as where the attack took place, and the IDs of the pirates involved? Perhaps we can avenge you!
Question for any G1 Magician-types: When you make an auraculum, what happens if you use more current aura for the spell than your maximum aura? ie. your maximum aura is 10 your current aura is 40 you cast "use 881 40" Does A) the spell fail because you don't have enough maximum aura? B) the spell succeeds as if you had just cast "use 881 10"? C) the spell succed, your auraculated maximum aura becomes 80, and your max aura without auraculum becomes -30? D) your spellcaster die due to having a negative personal maximum aura?
Dear Answer Guy, Near the top of my turn report, in the table listing my nobles, their locations, etc, there are columns labelled "B" and "CA". What's in them? (i.e. - what do "B" and "CA" stand for?)
The forces are let loose. A city is destroyed, a castle conquered! You're next!

Yvengi is a louse!
Help! I'm being repressed!
Observe the violence inherent in the system!
In the ruined chapel, the full knight Woke from the coffin of his last-night's bed; And clashing mailed feet on the broken stones Strode to the shattered lintel and looked out.
A fog lay holding all the empty land A cloak of cloudy and uncertainess, That hid the earth; in that enfoliate mist Moved voices wandered from a dream of death.
A warhorse cropping by the chapel wall, Raised mauled-head, dripping thistles on the stones; And struck his hooves; and jingled all his gear. "Peace..." said the Knight. "Be still. Today we rest.
"The mist is hiding all the battlefield. "The wind whips on the wave-packs of the sea. "Our foe is bound by this no less than we. "Rest," said the Knight. "We do not fight today"
The warhorse stamped again. And struck his hooves. Ringing on cobbled dampness of the stones. Crying "Ride! Ride! Ride!" And the Knight mounted him, Slowly. And rode him slowly out to war.
Truthfully, Yngvi is _not_, in fact, a louse. But he does have body crabs.
The area consisting of a four province radius surrounding Ussun should be considered a war zone. Travel through this vicinity at your own risk. Violators will be beaten into unconsciousness and summarily executed. You have been warned.
Across the plains, farmers who braved the mist began to vanish. Most blamed the goblins, none guessed the truth.
